3 Real Deal Italian Dishes to Order at il Giallo

Comfort food comes in all shapes and forms, but in the case of a meal at il Giallo, the shape is pasta and the form is Italian. Diners crowd the spacious restaurant nightly for food crafted with skill, flavor, and, as Chef Jamie Adams emphasizes: heart and soul. Pasta is a fan favorite and is made fresh daily. But il Giallo is also home to a wider variety of Italian dishes that vary per season.

Now that Spring is just days away, lamb is the special ingredient Chef Jamie is featuring. Grilled Lamb Chops, Cavatelli with Braised Lamb Shank and Smoked Lamb Ribs are just a few menu items featured this March. No matter which side of the menu you choose to order- something more hearty like Braised Short Rib Lasagna, lighter like Grilled North Georgia Trout, seasonal like the Lamb Meatballs, or classic like the Spaghetti e Polpette, there is no wrong choice. Look through a couple of our favorites below for a preview of your next meal at il Giallo:

1) Spaghetti e polpette: fresh spaghetti, tomatoes, marinara, garlic, meatballs and the “heart & soul” of Chef Jamie.

2) Lamb shank topped with pickled yellow beets and served alongside olive oil smashed potatoes and a salad of mint, parsley and citrus zest.

3) Lamb meatballs: mixed with ricotta, mint and cumin served over cream of polenta and broccolini.

This isn’t your ordinary fried lobster tail- it’s better. Chef Thuan Nguyen added the glazed lobster with serrano peppers, scallion, cilantro and crispy shallots to Noble Fin’s<\/a> menu directly after their Taste of Atlanta win. Chef Thuan Nguyen grew up on the coast and draws culinary inspiration from his seaside upbringing. The whole menu takes a creative spin on the coastline classics and land-lover entrees alike.<\/p>\n

Simon’s Restaurant<\/a> in Midtown has been open less than a year and already has a big-time trophy under their belt. The restaurant won “Best Taste” of Sunday at Taste of Atlanta on October 21st. Simon’s is best known for creative southern dishes and a truly Instagram-able build out. Chef Robert Butts crafts a unique and ever-changing menu with options ranging from indulgent to vegan; savory composed plates to painstakingly homemade\u00a0pastries. His enthusiasm is infectious and every restaurant-goer can appreciate the good vibes that radiate from his kitchen and extend throughout the entire dining space.<\/p>\n

Chef Robert updates his menu seasonally and right now, he’s focused on fall comfort foods. We went behind-the-scenes to capture some of these decadent dishes.
