Beachy Drinks + Can't Miss Caribbean Food

Need a Caribbean escape but don’t have time for a vacation? Drive over to Chef Rob’s Caribbean Cafe and take a break from the high-intensity city life. Chef Rob’s keeps reggae music streaming and rum drinks on deck to provide some beachy contrast to your day. The food Chef Rob serves is authentic and covers all the Caribbean- cuisine basics: from Jerk Chicken to Oxtail, Curry Goat to Ackee & Saltfish. This restaurant has been serving the Sandy Springs community since 2006 and has developed quite a following for this flavorful, fresh and funky menu.


The cocktails on Chef Rob’s menu are equally as diverse and tropical as the food! One of the drink specials, the “Ultimate Bob Marley” is one of the most colorful and potent choices to order. This drink is made with Malibu Coconut rum, banana liqueur, pineapple and orange juice, Don Q 151, Myer’s dark rum, blue curacao, melon liqueur and grenadine.

About Chef Rob:

Robert Gayle, the Executive Chef and owner at Chef Rob’s Caribbean Cafe, combines his Caribbean background with a Culinary Institute of America education, gathering flavors from around the world to refine a menu of island comfort fare. After spending his childhood in Jamaica West Indies, Chef Rob relocated to the United States and began to develop his culinary love at age 13 by working as a steward in Brooklyn.  Shortly after obtaining his culinary degree in 1993,  his skills and prestige steadily increased over time, allowing him to eventually assist with the openings of Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs’ New York and Atlanta venture, Justin’s Restaurant, in 1997. There he was able to deliver his culinary expertise for the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Akon.

Chef Rob’s mental Rolodex includes recipes for top-selling entrees and Caribbean Cuisine such as braised beef oxtails, ackee and saltfish, jerk chicken. curried goat, dry-rubbed spare ribs, and his signature spicy jerk seasoning. In addition to opening his Atlanta-based restaurant in 2006, the Chef Rob brand continues to grow with its wide selection of signature sauces, intimate cooking classes, and event catering options.

Unfortunately, Atlanta’s closest ocean is a few hours away. Good news though-\u00a0fresh and fantastically prepared\u00a0seafood is still found in the city! Many ITP establishments tout the best seafood specialities, but Noble Fin<\/a> just brought home the “Best Taste- Friday” trophy of Taste of Atlanta for their Crispy Tamarind Glazed Lobster! This isn’t your ordinary fried lobster tail- it’s better. Chef Thuan Nguyen added the glazed lobster with serrano peppers, scallion, cilantro and crispy shallots to Noble Fin’s<\/a> menu directly after their Taste of Atlanta win. Chef Thuan Nguyen grew up on the coast and draws culinary inspiration from his seaside upbringing. The whole menu takes a creative spin on the coastline classics and land-lover entrees alike.<\/p>\n

Simon’s is best known for creative southern dishes and a truly Instagram-able build out. Chef Robert Butts crafts a unique and ever-changing menu with options ranging from indulgent to vegan; savory composed plates to painstakingly homemade\u00a0pastries.
