Mandolin Kitchen: A Taste of Turkish Cuisine

9 May 2018

Grilled meats, vegetables and spicy peppers are all on the menu at Mandolin Kitchen. This Turkish restaurant offers familiar Mediterranean flavors like za’atar spiced kebabs and sauces like Tzatziki, Hummus and Babaganoush. The food is authentic and is boldly showcased in an atmosphere of bright natural light and clean, white everything. Eater Atlanta just included Mandolin Kitchen as one of the “Hottest Restaurants in Atlanta Right Now” and we couldn’t agree more with this selection. This gem of Sandy Springs will be serving the best tastes of Mandolin Kitchen at Food That Rocks, Saturday, June 9th. Visit this restaurant before the big event and order some of the most popular dishes below:

1) Grilled chicken kebabs served with baldo rice.

2) Hummus. Puree of chickpeas, tahini, lemon, garlic and extra virgin olive oil.

3) Babaganoush. Fire-roasted eggplant mixed with tahini, lemon, garlic and extra virgin olive oil.

4) Doner kebab. Homemade rotisserie grilled beef served with baldo rice.

Simon’s Restaurant in Midtown has been open less than a year and already has a big-time trophy under their belt. The restaurant won “Best Taste” of Sunday at Taste of Atlanta on October 21st. Simon’s is best known for creative southern dishes and a truly Instagram-able build out. Chef Robert Butts crafts a unique and ever-changing menu with options ranging from indulgent to vegan; savory composed plates to painstakingly homemade pastries. His enthusiasm is infectious and every restaurant-goer can appreciate the good vibes that radiate from his kitchen and extend throughout the entire dining space.

Chef Robert updates his menu seasonally and right now, he’s focused on fall comfort foods. We went behind-the-scenes to capture some of these decadent dishes. Watch a Facebook Live with Taste of Atlanta Marketing & Media Manager, Skye Estroff, and Chef Robert for more details of each menu item. One of the newly-added items made it to the menu because of it’s appearance on Simon’s Taste of Atlanta menu- the Slow Braised Beef Ribs over Pimento Cheese Mashed Potatoes and Crispy Collard Greens with Jack Daniels Au Jus.

See below for an up-close look at each spotlit dish and come and try Simon’s before 2018 ends! This restaurant is the perfect spot for brunch, drinks, dinner, happy hour, late night or group events any day of the week (brunch is weekends only).
