Sandy Springs' First Food Hall- Crafthall Kitchen

6 June 2018

Sandy Springs’ first food hall is now open! Crafthall Kitchen is a 4-in-1 restaurant with distinctly different menus for each stall. Crafthall Kitchen offers a variety of approachable, delicious and convenient food options. The umbrella name “Crafthall Kitchen” is comprised of 4 different concepts: brunch all day (Salt & Pfeffer), fried chicken (Fowl & Scratch), grain bowls (Bowl Cookhouse) and sandwiches (Urban Sammie). Two of the bowls we tasted from Bowl Cookhouse will be served sample-size at Food That Rocks this Saturday, June 9th: the Coatan Bowl and Moroccan Bowl. We also tasted the Chicken & Waffles from Fowl & Scratch for safe measure. Take a look at some of these signature dishes below:

1) Chicken and waffles from Fowl & Scratch. Crispy breading style chicken tenders with choice of sauce, crispy waffles & maple syrup topped with bacon and avocado.

2) Coatan Bowl from Bowl Cookhouse. Roasted chicken, white basmati rice, romaine lettuce, roasted sweet potato and corn, black beans, avocado and cilantro with spicy cilantro lime dressing.

3) Moroccan Bowl from Bowl Cookhouse. Homemade falafel, green lentils, romaine, pickled onion, roasted carrot, beet and chickpeas, crumbled feta and sweet & tangy moroccan dressing.

We’re thrilled NaanStop will be at Taste of Atlanta next weekend! This delicious fast-casual Indian restaurant uses fresh ingredients and prepares each dish from scratch. That’s probably why the lines are always out the door to get your hands on their most popular dishes. NaanStop’s samosa has won “Atlanta’s Best Savory Pastry” since 2014. This crispy fried pastry stuffed with spiced potatoes and mom’s special spice blend is incredibly satisfying. NaanStop makes each samosa by hand- just one of the elements that shows the care NaanStop puts into every dish they serve.

"IMG_3746"

If you haven’t tried a samosa before, get ready to have a new favorite food. This dish can be equated to other cultural staples- similar to an empanada stuffed with potatoes or a Jewish knish. It has the same crunchy breading on the outside and soft, pillowy potatoes on the inside. NaanStop will be serving these samosas both Saturday, October 20th and Sunday, October 21st at Taste of Atlanta! Ensure you can try this fantastic pastry by buying your tickets to Taste of Atlanta! Click here for more info + tickets."IMG_3804"

Besides quick-served samosas, NaanStop has a variety of menu items. In the photo above, features a Naanwich a.k.a a wrap made in a Naan, the classic Indian flatbread. This Naanwich, in particular, is stuffed with Indian turkey sausage and a variety of vegetables and sauces. "IMG_3706"Another fan-favorite at NaanStop? Build your own bowl. Start with a base of rice or greens, then add your choice of protein and veggies. In the bowl pictured above, rice was the base, Chicken Tikka Masala the protein, enhanced with vegetables and a dollop of yogurt & cilantro chutney.

The best parts of NaanStop are the quick service, the customizable menu and, of course, the signature samosas that will be offered at Taste of Atlanta. Last chance for tickets- click here to get yours!

Long Drink is a top selling category of alcoholic beverages in Finland – a Legend that is now available in America. The roots of long drinks go back to the 1952 Summer Games in Helsinki, Finland. The country of four million people was still poor and recovering from World War II. Full of pride for their country, the Finns wanted to give all athletes and tourists an unforgettable experience. However, the authorities had a serious concern – how to serve drinks quickly enough to all the visitors?!

To solve this they came up with a revolutionary idea of a new liquor drink and so the first long drinks were born. The people fell in love and demanded to keep them after the Games. Now The Legend of 1952 has finally been brought to America by the next generation of Finns who want the world to experience the refreshing and unique Finnish Long Drink.
