The American Culinary Federation, Inc. (ACF), a professional, organization for chefs and cooks, was founded in 1929 in New York city by three chefs’ organizations: the Societe Culinaire Philanthropique, the Vatel Club and the Chefs de Cuisine Association of America. Since our inception, little has changed in our principal goals. We are an organization based on promoting the professional image of American chefs worldwide through education of culinarians at all levels.
As an invaluable resource to the Atlanta community since 1987, Atlanta's Table collects prepared perishable food from our local hospitality industry and delivers it to over 40 Metro Atlanta nonprofit, hunger-relief agencies daily. Atlanta's Table will be reclaiming unused food at Taste of Atlanta and distributing it to those in need.
Cooking Matters™
Cooking Matters™ empowers families with the skills, knowledge and confidence to prepare healthy and affordable meals. With the help of volunteer culinary and nutrition experts, Cooking Matters course participants learn how to select nutritious and low-cost ingredients and prepare them in ways that provide the best nourishment possible to their families.
Hospitality Education Foundation of Georgia (HEFG)ProStart ®
HEFG coordinates the 3rd largest ProStart ® culinary program in the country with more than 85 participating high schools throughout Georgia. ProStart ® is a program created by the National Restaurant Association to teach high school students culinary skills and business management training. HEFG bridges the gap between high schools and the hospitality industry by providing teacher resources, scholarship opportunities, hospitality education and industry partnerships. Taste of Atlanta is proud to showcase this valuable program at this year's event. Participating students and their professional chef mentors will perform cooking demonstrations on the Home Plate Main Stage.
Les Dames d'Escoffier International (LDEI) is a worldwide society of women dedicated to creating a culture in the community that fosters excellence and promotes the achievement of women in culinary professions through educational and charitable activities. Atlanta Dames include chefs, restaurateurs, caterers, retailers, event planners, cookbook authors, food journalists and historians, winemakers and wine industry professionals, food publicists, culinary educators and hospitality executives.
Share Our Strength ® is a national organization that works hard to make sure no kid in America grows up hungry. Share our Strength ® weaves together a net of community groups, activists and food programs to catch children facing hunger and surround them with nutritious food where they live, learn and play.
